Dog Treats - Made For Your Pets Needs

by Brigitte Smith

Dogs are no longer known as only pets. They are considered part of the family in many homes today. They are affectionately known as our fur babies,or grand dogs to name a few.Dogs go many places with their owners. They go on vacations with us and they sleep in our beds.Like human kids, some dress for Halloween and find Christmas presents from Santa under the tree. Some owners even buy or bake their own gourmet dog treats.

The popularity of gourmet and all natural treats is growing. Dog treats made with the equivalent ingredients found in our own food are a welcome change from the commercial brands of dog biscuits sold in supermarkets. Gourmet dog treats are a big hit with many advocates of alternative natural pet diets, and also with pet owners who just want to give their dogs a variety of healthy, yummy snacks that look superior, regardless of their daily brand of dog food.

Pet food bake shops allow the dog to come in with their owner to select their freshly made doggy donuts, cakes, brownies, and cookies of all sizes, shapes and a multitude of flavors. Don't you have a pet food bakery where you live?

You can find the gourmet pet treats, which are natural and free of preservatives, packaged in little plastic bags or window boxes, at pet stores, gift boutiques, grocery stores, retail outlets as well as online. There are online gourmet pet food bakeries. Some businesses focus on dog treats, low calorie treats or treats made for pets that are sensitive to certain food.

A word of caution in case your dog is overweight. Even though gourmet dog treats are made with human quality, healthy ingredients, the calories and fat content can sometimes be quite high. If your dog has a weight problem, then check the ingredients and stick with the lower fat treats. Please note that treats should not make up more than 10 percent of a dog's daily diet.

If you are a baker by avocation, you can make wonderful doggie treats in your kitchen at home for much less than what you would pay in the store. There are almost certainly a lot of the ingredients for these dog food recipes on the shelves of your pantry right now, particularly if you bake breads regularly.

It usually takes more time to bake dog biscuits than it does to bake most of our cookie recipes. That is because, even though you mix and bake it the same way as other cookies, the dough is thicker than other cookie dough. Your dog may also like Flint River Ranch dog food.

Dogs are no longer called just pets. In many homes, they are actually part of the family. They are considered our fur kids, our babies, and our grand dogs. Many pampered pooches are also eating gourmet dog treats. Many alternative natural pet diet advocates are extremely pleased with the available gourmet options. The food you give your pet is also vital to them enjoying a long life. You can try Flint River Ranch dog food, a completely natural alternative. You can make food from scratch using any of a number of dog food recipes.
